Woking vs Wealdstone
Enterprise National League
Tuesday 19th August 2025
19:45 Kick-Off
Two sides with contrasting starts to the season do battle as Woking host Wealdstone on Tuesday night. After Saturday’s unsuccessful trip to Scunthorpe, Neal Ardley will look to get a tune out of his squad to help kick start their season and build some confidence ahead of a busy Bank Holiday weekend.
The likes of Jack Turner, who made a positive impact off the bench at Scunthorpe, will hope for a start as Woking figure out their best starting eleven with key players yet to fire as they did last season, and they’ll need some backing under the Laithwaite lights, so come and help the Cards get their first three points of the season.
Opposition Watch
After their dramatic final day survival, the shock departure of Neil Gibson allowed Sam Cox to take the reins permanently, and despite being tipped by almost everyone to go down, the Stones have picked up back-to-back league wins sandwiched between a National League Cup victory.
Newly promoted Truro and a Halifax side firmly in transition might be a slightly nicer first two fixtures than Woking have had, but with five scored and one conceded in two games, it’s a dream start for Cox. Even Jack Cook is scoring goals from 25 yards out, as his sublime strike helped secure victory over 10-man Halifax.
With 15 arrivals at Grosvenor Vale, including Woking favourite Moussa Diarra, Cox’s side have stolen a march on the rest of the pack that many tipsters imagine they will be in, as their low budget was cut even further this summer. Cox seems to have created a team together in unity, however, and they will come to the Laithwaite knowing that the pressure is firmly on the home side to get off the mark.

One to Watch
Sean Adarkwa is a fan favourite at the Stones, and got off the mark on Saturday as he aims to hit the ground running after a stop-start 2024/25 campaign. The former West Ham man hit double figures in his first full season, providing a focal point in attack.
