Don’t miss a fascinating profile of Woking’s First Team Coach and Kingfield legend, Steve Thompson, in this Saturday’s matchday programme. Steve talks to Ian Nicholson about his time at Woking under Geoff Chapple, particularly praising his midfield colleagues:, Andy Ellis and Scott Steele: “We complemented each other really well with Andy being the ‘sitter’, I was all over the pitch ‘box to box’ and Scott Steele provided the flair – it worked. It certainly did! Steve is less complimentary about John McGovern’s decision to sell Kevan Brown and him to Yeovil!
Steve goes on to talk about the lure of returning to Kingfield and what he hopes Garry Hill and he can achieve.
In a rather different vein Saturday’s programme also includes an amusing account of some of the antics of KC Kat’s mascot colleagues, including the infamous Cyril the Swan. Makes KC sound like a very tame puss! And The Ranter fixes his sights on some more deserving targets.
As always, the matchday programme is a great read and a mine of information. Don’t forget to get your copy. If you can’t get to the game you can order one via the Club Shop on shop@wokingfc.co.uk
