Following an Extraordinary Board meeting this afternoon, we are delighted to announce the appointment of Kim Grant as Head Coach, assisted by Philip Gilchrist.
Kim, a British citizen born in Ghana, West Africa, and Phil, club captain at Oxford United for the last two seasons, join on a three year contract to revitalise our club on the pitch, by playing attacking football that leads us to promotion into the Football League within three seasons.
Kim has an international playing career with Ghana, Portugal and Singapore, as well as playing for Charlton Athletic in the Premiership and Yeovil Town in the Conference, amongst other UK clubs. He was also Assistant Coach at Sengkang FC in Singapore and with International Allies, in Ghana.
Phil has been coach at Leicester City?s Academy, and played in the Premiership with Leicester City and West Bromwich Albion.
Chairman David Taylor said, ?I repeat my personal promise to our fans that I will do everything in my power to secure us promotion to the Football League within three seasons. Kim and Phil were selected because of their track record, their in-depth knowledge of the game and their combined national and international approach to coaching.?
?I would like to thank Colin Lippiatt and Chris Ingram for their hard work during this selection process.?
There will be a chance to meet the whole football management team, including Kim and Phil, on Tuesday 3rd June, 7.30pm at the Club, followed by a press conference for the media.
