An inaugural meeting was held on the 1st May 2008 at Kingfield and hosted by Woking F.C. and chaired by David Taylor, Club Chairman.
A number of local football clubs were contacted and the Chairman of these clubs were invited to meet at Kingfield on 1st May to see if there was any way
they could all work together, for the benefit for all Football Clubs in the Woking locality.
There were seven clubs who accepted the invitation and these were;-
Goldsworth Park Rangers
Knaphill F.C.
Woking & Horsell F.C./ Woking Cougars
Woking Boys F.C.
Mayford Athletic F.C.
Meadow Sports F.C.
Ripley F.C.
At the end of the meeting it was decided the partnership should be developed
into something more formal.
The areas of synergy covered a wide area, from the need and importance of open dialogue between teams crossing across local rivalry and helping each other, to coaching qualifications and Centre of Excellence.
From this meeting we also agreed to help each other in communicating where applicable
on each other's web sites anything that would be helpful for this Partnership, hence the
following Press Release by Woking Town F.C. for a new Chairman.
More on the Woking Football Partnership will appear in the near future on this site.
